Product description
Perlite is a natural rock of volcanic origin. Perlite has interesting physicochemical properties:
- has low thermal conductivity, is a good thermal insulator
- has a very low bulk density,
- has a great ability to suppress noise,
- is resistant to high temperatures,
- is chemically inert,
- shows high physical stability.
The above properties of perlite allow its use in many areas:
- in construction - as a component material in good heat and sound insulation; is a component of plastering and masonry mortars, etc.,
- in gardening, it is used as a component of multi-component substrates with organic and inorganic materials to improve their structure, increase moisture absorption and increase sorption capacity limiting the nutrient elution rate,
- as one of the components in the filter media,
- as an insulating material in high temperature processes,
- as a filler or carrier in various technologies.
Based on the bulk density and grain size, an internal division of perlite was made into the following types:
- EP 100F (class 0)
- EP 150 (class II)
- EP 180 (class III)
- EP 200 (agroperlite).
Perlite is offered in paper bags with a capacity of 125 liters, big bags and loose in tank trucks.
Filter perlite EP100F
The smallest grade of EP100F perlite is used in the food industry (sugar factories, breweries, juice producers etc.) as an auxiliary filter medium. The addition of perlite makes it possible to achieve higher filtration efficiency than in traditional methods by increasing the flow rate of the filtered liquid. Due to its unique properties, i.e. sterility, chemical inertness and no effect on the taste, smell and color of the filtered liquid, as well as the low price, it is a noteworthy alternative to traditional filter media.
