Product description

DEKABIT roofing putty is a homogeneous mass of black color with a smooth or pasty consistency for cold use without heating. Thanks to the appropriate composition of asphalt in synthetic rubber modified, the solvent in organic and special reinforcing fibers roofing putty has a wide range of applications and excellent performance parameters.

Destiny

  • repair of cracks, bends, blisters, filling holes, defects, places after blisters removed and dents on roofing made of roofing felt and other materials in;
  • gluing and sealing metal cladding on roofs, near chimneys, attics, firewalls, roof skylights and all openings and culverts on roofs;
  • gluing and sealing roofing felt, roofing shingle, roofing ceramic and cement, bituminous boards, eternit boards, etc .;
  • making seamless laminate with a reinforcing insert;
  • filling gaps, cracks and expansion joints in the underground and above-ground parts of buildings and structures.

Advantages

  • creates after drying a very flexible and durable insulation layer, which thanks to rubbers and reinforcing fibers is resistant to dripping, cracking and peeling;
  • has very good adhesive properties, which makes it possible to glue roofing felt as well as sticking felt to other roofing and building substrates;
  • has a consistency enabling one-time application in a thick layer, without fear of runoff, which reduces the work and time required for the insulation;
  • has increased resistance to frost cracking, thanks to the use of synthetic rubber and reinforcing fibers;
  • has excellent dry adhesion and low humidity to all substrates found in construction;
  • allows insulation in the form of seamless laminate with the use of reinforcing inserts.

Method of use

DEKABIT roofing putty is applied to a dry or slightly moist (without water stagnation) base, durable, not frozen, cleaned of loose impurities, rust, etc. with a trowel, ordinary or serrated putty (such as for tile adhesive with max. 6 teeth mm) or a brush with stiff bristles. Absorbent surfaces with reduced adhesion should be primed with JARLEP-G or JARLEP-GM asphalt solution.
When filling gaps, DEKABIT putty should be pressed into the gap with a trowel or putty knife and spread with a thin layer of 5 - 10 cm outside the repair gap. For joints wider than 5 mm, it is recommended to use additional reinforcement made of glass fabric or building mesh. Press the reinforcing patch into the greased mass until it soaks, and then cover with another layer of mass.
When filling defects or making insulation on a large surface, the use of a toothed spatula allows you to apply the right amount of DEKABIT, repeatable in any place, which surface is then leveled with the smooth side of the spatula.
It is possible to make a seamless laminate with DEKABIT putty using a reinforcing insert made of glass fabric, textile or polyester mesh. To this end, we press the reinforcement insert into the first DEKABIT layer "fresh" until it is completely soaked. Then apply another layer of roofing mass, making sure that the insulation has the same thickness in every place. The last layer is poured from the top with sprinkle of paprika to protect against UV radiation.
The optimum temperature for applying the DEKABIT roofing putty is above +5 C. On cooler days, to facilitate spreading of the putty over the substrate and to reduce the specific consumption, the DEKABIT roofing putty should be stored for 24 hours in a heated room before use.

Transport and storage

DEKABIT roofing putty packaging should be stored and transported in an upright position in a maximum of four layers. Keep away from sources of ignition and element in heating, in conditions protecting from sunlight. During transport, the devices must be secured against moving and tipping over.

attention

Do not use for tar tar and tarred roofing.
