The main application of Tonopian is sound insulation of ceilings through the use of a two-layer system called a floating floor. In this solution, the floor is separated from the supporting structure by a layer of Tonopian. Tonopian should be used to insulate inter-floor ceilings in every residential and public building, due to the acoustic protection requirements of the building specified in the Polish Standard PN-B-02151-3: 1999.
